Public Information Coordinator

|Description:||The position of Public Relations Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the process of keeping the general public and key stakeholders informed of the construction and operation of the project.|
|Duties:||-Serves as the first point-of-contact and customer service representative in the project storefront office.|
-Gathers information on construction updates and project timelines and works with supervisors to input and distribute the data through applicable communication channels such as Highway Condition Reports (HCRS), social media, and web site postings.
-Receives and logs comments, questions, and concerns from the general public and/or other stakeholders, and forwards those inquiries to appropriate project staff for response.
-Coordinates archiving of the data with applicable Document Control.
-Works with upper level public relations colleagues to schedule, organize and/or facilitate public meetings, community education presentations (with civic and/or business groups), town halls, forums, etc. to increase the publics’ and key stakeholders’ knowledge about the project and its current status.
-Assists project staff in developing community education presentations, as needed.
-Assist in maintaining and updating databases of key stakeholders, corridor constituents and facility users.

|Qualifications:||-Bachelor degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred.|
-Minimum of two (2) years of experience of progressive responsibility in similar positions.
-Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures used in public affairs and communications with multiple stakeholders.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
-Experience/familiarity with web site management (content management).
-Experience in transportation arena or with other major public policy issues preferred.
